Moorish looking house beside the Cortiella river in the centre of the village of Porrera. L’Icona del Pont Vell (the Icon of the Old Bridge) is an oasis of pampering and well-being. The owners are a nurse and a physiotherapist who have created a spa and massage parlour as part of the services offered to guests. A lot of the holiday accommodation use the prefix: CAL. This is Catalan and means "the house belonging to". In the small villages of the Priorat, each and every one of the houses has a "nickname" and everyone who lives in the house is known by this name. Sometimes it is related to their surname, but often it is a lot older than the family or refers to someone who lived there many years ago.
