If you are looking for peace and quiet this is an ideal spot for a romantic getaway. Perched on the cliffs of Siurana, last Moorish stronghold in Catalonia this newly built hotel blends in well with the other historical houses of the village. Access via a winding road from Cornudella de Montsant. Not for the feint-hearted, but well worth the trip. Price per double room around 100 Euros. Great place to watch the sun going down. |

A lot of the holiday accommodation use the prefix: CAL. This is Catalan and means "the house belonging to". In the small villages of the Priorat, each and every one of the houses has a "nickname" and everyone who lives in the house is known by this name. Sometimes it is related to their surname, but often it is a lot older than the family or refers to someone who lived there many years ago.
